Terms & Conditions

1.1 The Challenge is open to all East Africans aged 18 to 35 at the date of entry. This age and residency requirement applies to the entrant, the person submitting the video, not to anyone else featured in it.

1.2 Entries are accepted from 1 June 2026 to 31 August 2026. Results will be announced by 30 September 2026, and winners paid by 14 October 2026.

1.3 Employees of Jitume Omoka, their immediate family, and anyone involved in producing or judging the Challenge may not enter.

2.1 Submit one vertical video, between 30 seconds and 2 minutes in length, about an entrepreneurial dream.

2.2 The dream featured can be your own, or someone else’s, such as a friend’s. If you are submitting someone else’s story, you must have their permission both to feature them and to submit the video on their behalf, and you confirm that permission by entering.

2.3 A valid email address and phone number are required on the entry form. Entry is confirmed by one-time password sent to that number.

2.4 One entry per person. Entering more than once may result in disqualification of all entries from that person.

2.5 Entry is free. No purchase is necessary.

3.1 Entries must be a genuine, original recording of a real person, whether that is you or someone whose story you have permission to share. The following will result in disqualification:

• Any video generated, in whole or in part, by artificial intelligence, including AI-generated voice, AI-generated or AI-altered footage, AI avatars, deepfakes, or any other synthetic media
• Any video that is not a genuine, unedited-in-substance recording of a real person
• Any entry featuring someone other than the entrant where the entrant cannot show that person’s permission, if asked
• Any entry containing content the entrant does not own the rights to, including unlicensed music or footage
• Any entry containing unlawful, defamatory, obscene or discriminatory content

Jitume Omoka reserves the right to disqualify any entry it reasonably believes to be AI-generated, wholly or in part, at its sole discretion and without obligation to explain its reasoning.

4.1 Entries are judged on clarity (30%), authenticity (30%), learning insight (25%) and production quality (15%).

4.2 Judging decisions are final. No correspondence will be entered into regarding the outcome.

5.1 Ten prizes are awarded, totalling KES 113,500, paid by M-PESA directly to the winner’s registered number.

5.2 Prizes are non-transferable and have no cash alternative.

5.3 Winners may be asked to verify their identity and eligibility before payment is made.

By entering the Challenge, you grant Jitume Omoka a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use, reproduce, edit, subtitle, excerpt, publish, broadcast and distribute your submitted video, in whole or in part, for marketing and promotional activities, on any platform and in any format, whether or not you win a prize.

6.1 This licence is granted whether or not you are selected as a winner, and continues for as long as reasonably necessary for the marketing and promotional purposes described above.

6.2 You retain ownership of your video. This licence does not transfer copyright to Jitume Omoka.

6.3 Jitume Omoka will credit you by name or handle where the format reasonably allows, but is not obliged to do so.

6.4 If your entry features someone other than yourself, you confirm that you have their permission both to appear in the video and for it to be used by Jitume Omoka as set out in this clause, and you agree to provide evidence of that permission if asked.

6.5 If you do not wish your entry, or a video you submit about someone else, to be used in this way, do not enter the Challenge.

7.1 Your personal data is processed in accordance with the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019 and Jitume Omoka’s privacy notice, available at jitumeomoka.com.

7.2 Entrant data is retained for 24 months from the close of the Challenge. Prize payment records are retained for 7 years.

7.3 Where you are resident outside Kenya, you consent to your data being transferred to and held in Kenya for the purposes of running the Challenge.

8.1 Jitume Omoka may amend these terms, or cancel or suspend the Challenge, at any time for reasons including technical failure, fraud, or circumstances beyond its control. Material changes will be published on jitumeomoka.com.

8.2 These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya.
