Eligibility, video requirements, judging criteria, and how prizes are paid. Everything you need before you hit record.
Eligibility
- Citizens or legal residents of Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, or South Sudan, aged 18–35 as of 15 August 2026
- An original video answering the two questions, filmed by you
- One entry per person
- Free to enter, no fees at any stage
Video requirements
Length
30 seconds minimum, 2 minutes maximum
Format
MP4, MOV, or WebM, maximum 250MB
Audio
Clearly audible, a quiet room beats a loud studio
Language
Swahili, English, or a mix, speak naturally
Production
A basic Android phone scores the same as a professional camera
Judging criteria
Every entry is scored by a judging panel across four weighted criteria. Judges watch for your story, not your studio.

Authenticity

Is this your real story, told in your own words and voice, not a script?
Learning insight

Have you named a specific, learnable skill rather than a vague wish?

Is the video watchable, meaning steady, audible, and well-lit? Production value is not required.
Payout process
- 1.The top 10 ranked entries are announced publicly on the Jitume Omoka platform and social channels.
- 2.Each winner is paid directly via their registered mobile money account (M-PESA, MTN Mobile Money, Airtel Money, or another supported provider) to the number they registered at entry. No bank account needed.
- 3.Payouts are initiated by 20 November 2026.
- 4.All 10 placed winners also receive a free 6-month Pro subscription to Jitume Omoka when the platform launches.
