Built for Kenya

Your story deserves a national stage

From Nairobi to Kisumu, Mombasa to Eldoret — young Kenyans are building the next generation of businesses. Tell us yours.

Your brief

Two questions. Your honest answer.

That is the entire brief. Be specific — the more real and detailed your story is, the stronger your entry will be. This is not a production competition. It's a story competition.

01

What is your entrepreneurial dream?

02

What do you need to learn to make it happen?

Speak Swahili, English, or a mix — all welcome. One honest take beats ten rehearsed ones.

How to enter

Judging criteria

What judges look for

Each entry is scored across four weighted axes by the Learnflix Kenya panel. Production quality is not one of them.

35%

Clarity of Dream

How clearly and specifically does the entrant describe their entrepreneurial ambition? Is it a real, grounded vision?

30%

Learning Insight

How well does the entrant identify what they need to learn? Is it specific, honest, and actionable?

20%

Authenticity

Is the story personal and real? Does it feel like a lived experience rather than a rehearsed pitch?

15%

Communication

Is the message clear and easy to understand? Production quality is NOT a factor — clarity is.

Important

Production quality does not affect your score. A video filmed on a basic Android phone scores the same as one filmed professionally. The judges are watching for your story, not your studio.

Filming tips

Your phone is all you need

You don't need a professional camera. Here's how to make a basic phone shot look great.

  • Film outside or near a window — natural light makes the biggest difference.

  • Hold your phone vertically (upright) and keep it steady.

  • Find a quiet spot away from traffic and wind so we can hear you clearly.

  • Look at the camera lens when you speak, not at your own face on the screen.

  • Speak from the heart — one honest take beats ten rehearsed ones.

  • You don't need a script — just know the two questions and speak naturally.
